Whilst working for JR Design we had the great privilege of working along side a huge team in order to reinstate this castle to its former glory. From architects to project mangers, builders to decorators we worked together with many people for nearly 3 years.
It was our responsibility to develop the architects plans with internal floor layouts for all areas, there were 100 rooms which needed to be filled with colour, flooring, lighting and furniture and we had to organise it all. We also worked alongside Christopher Gibbs who was an influential figure in the 1960s in fashion and interiors, who purchased the majority of the antiques.
This job was the perfect opportunity to experiment: handmade fabrics from India, locally made handmade tiles, restoration of various pieces of furniture, bespoke wallpapers, paint effects and murals, bespoke furniture, antique textiles and 100’s of meters of beautiful fabrics. It was a wonderful experience
