C19th Serpentine Console Table
This table had a very obvious crack through ita centre, making the surface quite uneven and unsightly. Some very unsatisfactory previous attempts had been made to fill and stabilise the legs.

C19th Serpentine Console Table
Filling and sanding complete it was time to colour match the existing paintwork and gilt. A final polish and shine gave this table a new lease of life.

Eagle & A Missing Wing
This eagle belongs to an C18th clock, his wing had been missing for years. Here we begin the first stages of its reinstatement, drawing the position of the new wing.

Eagle & A Missing Wing
A new armature was fitted and the new wing modelled over the top in Polymer clay.

C18th Chair in Need of Repair
A pair of chairs which were showing signs of age. The arms were wobbling and the textiles were threadbare in places.

C18th Chair in Need of Repair
The textile was very carefully lifted, the arms glued and repaired. Then the work began on the tapestry.

C18th Chair in Need of Repair
A new canvas was shaped to fit in order to strengthen the needlework, patterns traced and the embroidery began.

Oval Mirror
A client wanted a tall slim mirror so this white mirror was sourced from an antique shop. It was a very tatty finish and the client was after something a little more elegant.

Oval Mirror
Blackboard paint was used to give a more matt finish and the gold leaf applied to the raised detail.

From Restoration to Reproduction
Sometimes pieces are just too fragile and even though this textile had already been repaired it became obvious that this needed to be reproduced. The canvas is hand made felted crochet, the original design was then pounced onto the fabric.

From Restoration to Reproduction
Using chain stitch only and Appletons wools the design was created using a black outline stitch. Then the fun part began, filling in the colour.

Beethoven
Beethoven was picked up at the Henley antique fair for a client who was looking for unusual objet. He had lots of dinks and chips and his neck was very unsteady as he had previously been chucked in a skip!

Beethoven
All loose material was removed and the neck stabilised with armatures and scrim, Beethoven was then lovingly restored to his former glory, including renewing his ageing patina.

Family Heirlooms
Sometimes it's difficult to imagine a new life for something old. A client gave me these very old and ripped seat covers that had been embroidered by her husbands mother. What to do with them?

Family Heirlooms
First all of the tears needed to be repaired in order to make the backing cloth as wide as possible.

Family Heirlooms
A complimentary faux silk was then sourced and colour matched with a contrast coloured piping then these lovely heirlooms were converted into cushions.

Antique Flags
A client had a collection of antique flags, all with holes and previous bad repairs. Due to their size they no longer had the space to hang then so we decided to make them into floor cushions, but before that could begin we needed to repair the textiles.

Antique Flags
The flags needed to have the old repairs removed, backed with a knitting fabric to improve their longevity and then repainted to replace the details.

Antique Flags
Once the flag was restored fabric was chosen to compliment. Felted crochet undersides were made for the textiles as they were going to be floor cushions which needed to be robust.

Antique Flags
There were 4 flags in all, each requiring a different level of restorations but all finished with a contrasting felted crochet backing.

Eastern European Chairs
These lovely chairs were spotted at Newark Antiques Fair, the only problem - there was only one. Therefore we set about reproducing a further 3 chairs to make this a set for the Eco Kitchen.
